Vice President                                                                                2006-2009  DEL MAR MARKETING                                                                                           Del Mar Marketing is the independently owned marketing arm of Del Mar Development, the premier developer of luxury residential communities in Cabo San Lucas.  In 2008 Del Mar Development sold over $60 Million of vacation homes on the Sea of Cortez.  Del Mar Marketing has been exclusively responsible for the creation, implementation and management of all aspects of the developer’s international marketing from early stage envisioning, branding, collateral and websites, to on-going resort-wide brand oversight after resort sell-out.  Two of the 5 communities also include restaurant, spa and fitness amenities, which are also handled by Del Mar Marketing.  Del Mar Marketing’s efforts have resulted in Del Mar Development communities being recognized as the best of the best in the world of luxury real estate.

Operations and Business Systems Development:                                     
• Managed all business operations during a period of 1500% growth over two years, with annual operating budgets up to $7.5M.
• Designed and implemented all project tracking, accounting, HR policies, procedures and benefits.
• Centralized and protected all corporate digital assets in six locations and two countries and managed design and implementation of WAN project for four locations and two countries

Corporate Structure and International Tax Law:
• In anticipation of significant growth, converted the company to a two-entity corporate structure (C-corp and LLC) to optimize the complex owner tax scenario and stay within compliance of domestic and international tax law. 
• Also implemented legal contracts and accounting procedures for foreign employees and subcontractors.


President and Founder                                                                 1998-2006  TOOLLESS PLASTIC TECHNOLOGIES, LLC                                                       Toolless Plastic Technologies was founded to fill a long standing need for custom plastic enclosures for low volume, high value product, with minimal, or no up front tooling costs.  Toolless is a design (staff Industrial Design and Mechanical Engineering) and manufacturing company using a proprietary CNC machining and semi-automated assembly process to design, prototype and manufacture custom plastic enclosures for OEMs in the medical, laboratory instrument, telecom, commercial and industrial electronics sectors.                                                                                  

Business Development:
• Developed the market for new technology, increasing sales from $250k to $1.5M in 24 months.  The technology had been in Europe for nearly 10 years, but was very new to the US market so significant marketing, PR and sales effort was required.
• Created organization and business systems to support 500% growth over 2 years
• Built largest company and #1 national brand recognition in market niche
• Created innovative digital media kit, secured 12 editorial placements over 2 years
• Secured first page, organic placements on all major search engines
• After sale of business, designed and implemented marketing and sales campaign leveraging new owner’s enhanced technical platform

Product Development:
• Developed over 800 new product enclosures with average 6 week "design-to-manufacturing" cycle, for OEM’s including medical, laboratory equipment, commercial and industrial electronics
• Provided electronics packaging and manufacturing expertise in more than 200 design reviews
• Managed 9 month re-engineering and re-programming effort with team of 2 US and 3 French engineers to convert 200 projects and 8000 CAM programs

Operations:
• Created and continuously modified manufacturing, engineering, administrative, IT and financial systems to accommodate 100% per year growth over 3 years
• Hired, trained and developed staff to support 600% increase in number of employees over 3 years

Business Acquisition:
• Negotiated complex three-way license between German and US principals
• Secured bank, angel, and seller financing for 100% of purchase price and working capital
• Built out manufacturing facility in three weeks, relocated management team and operations

Strategic Business Sale:
• Created “buy or be acquired” strategy after evaluating market share and profitability scenarios
• Structured competitive bidding scenario between four potential buyers


Vice President, General Manager, Co-owner                           1990-1998  SYNERGY SYSTEMS, INC.                                                                When founded in 1989, Synergy Systems relied exclusively on the model building skill of its 3 employees to support the model building and prototyping needs of the Industrial Designers and Engineers from medical, and industrial and consumer electronics OEM’s.  Within 5 years, as Synergy Systems was fast becoming the premier, full service prototyping company in the Northwest, more and more leading edge technologies were added, including CNC machining, cast epoxy and urethanes, Stereolithography (SLA), Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) and Rapid injection molding.  By the late 90s, Synergy Systems had become the leader in its field, subsequently adding engineering and limited run manufacturing to its comprehensive prototyping capacities.
 
Business Development:
• Joined company when it had 3 employees, increased sales from $250K to $3.5M over five years while maintaining profitability every year
• Created marketing and sales strategy resulting in the largest prototype company in the region and top brand recognition on West coast against aggressive and established competition
• Developed organizational and business systems to support growth from 4 to 65 employees over 4 years
• Managed internal, bank and investor financing to open a second facility
• Designed and implemented lateral expansion growth strategy into 5 new market sectors over 5 years; 3 market sectors required new technologies and 2 required new competencies

Product Development:
• Managed 3000+ product development prototype programs including early concept models, machined and rapid prototypes and interim manufacturing including production machining, cast urethanes, injection molding and assembly
• Participated in 100+ design reviews providing manufacturing and prototyping perspectives

Operations and Financial Management:
• Managed cash flow and capital acquisition during 50%-100% per year growth period over 5 years
• Secured funding and joint venture relationships to implement lateral expansion which required $1M in capital
• Managed sales and marketing, manufacturing, engineering, administration and finance - up to 65 people in 2 locations
• Sold the business to a customer and joint venture partner

                                                           In 1985, Technology Design had a staff of 3 Industrial Designers.  The first mechanical engineer was hired in 1986, and a Director of Marketing and Sales in 1987.  Within 3 years, the 4 person firm became an award winning, 19 person company with Industrial Design, Mechanical Engineering and Tooling management capabilities.  The firm was taking projects from initial aesthetic concept through manufacturing.  Clients included Fortune 500 OEM’s in the medical, commercial, industrial and consumer electronics markets.

Marketing and Sales:
• Designed and implemented marketing and sales strategies resulting in 500% growth over three years
• Developed Los Angeles, San Francisco and Portland markets
• Opened remote sales offices in two locations, hired and trained staff

Product Development/Engineering:
• Developed procedures and protocols for industrial design teams interaction with client engineers
• Implemented industrial design concepts and mechanical designs; managed projects from prototyping to manufacturing
• Designed for manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, machining, injection molding, thermoforming, casting and forging.
